We already know a lot of things about nails as how it is made and what it consists of. So we can surely come to a conclusion that nails are as important as many of our body parts are. The nails help in protecting the nerve-rich fingertips. It also protects the tip of toes from injury. There speed of growth is quite good which is about an average rate of 3 millimeters a month. The growth rate also depends upon age, gender. Surprisingly their growth can increase is it’s the write season or a good exercise is done to help them grow well. Hereditary factors are the most influencing factors for a good growth.
According to the western culture, keeping long nails is considered to be a symbol of femininity. Keeping long nails or only keeping long nails on the little finger is considered to be a indication that they don’t do a much of labor work. During the 19th century in the Balkans, the workers who had white collars used to keep long nails, which would differentiate between the lower class and the upper-class.

According to anatomy, the nails are considered to be a horn-like structure. This can be seen on the end of feet or fingers. According to the common information, the word nail usually refers to the nail plate. Due to anatomy, the fingernails and toenails are usually made of tough protein called keratin. They are produced in our fingers and toes by living skin cells. These living skin cells are made by many different parts.
The first part from which the living skin cells are made up of is Eponychium or cuticle. This is usually the fold of skin at the end of the nail. The second one is the Paronychium which again is a fold but is at the sides of the nail. The third part is called the Hyponychium. This part is attached between the skins of the finger. The fourth is the nail plate. This part is composed of keratin and is has hard as well as consist of translucent portion. This fifth part is quite important for making living skin cells; it is called the nail bed. Its work it to underline the nail and is made of adherent connective tissue.

Hairs are considered to be the important feature which increases your ability to look good. A person having a good hair style can attract the opposite sex. Our adult human body consists of two types of hairs. One of them is called terminal hair and the other one is called Vellus hair. Lanugo hair is the kind of hair which is present in a fetus or new born babies.
The hairs which grow thick and long on our body like on the head, armpits and pubic area, as well as on the face, chest, arms and legs is the terminal hair. This type of hair can be seen well on men.
Vellus hair being a total opposite to the terminal hair grows only on few places in our body. Both men and woman have the same place were it grows. The color of this hair is often colorless or blonde. This type of hair is more visible on woman and children because of the fact that they have less terminal hairs.
