Senseless Nails

According to anatomy, the nails are considered to be a horn-like structure. This can be seen on the end of feet or fingers. According to the common information, the word nail usually refers to the nail plate. Due to anatomy, the fingernails and toenails are usually made of tough protein called keratin. They are produced in our fingers and toes by living skin cells. These living skin cells are made by many different parts.

The first part from which the living skin cells are made up of is Eponychium or cuticle. This is usually the fold of skin at the end of the nail. The second one is the Paronychium which again is a fold but is at the sides of the nail. The third part is called the Hyponychium. This part is attached between the skins of the finger. The fourth is the nail plate. This part is composed of keratin and is has hard as well as consist of translucent portion. This fifth part is quite important for making living skin cells; it is called the nail bed. Its work it to underline the nail and is made of adherent connective tissue.
